Ahmedabad goes drizzle this rainy season.. with Urge to splurge

The downpour of restaurants for the crazy bees has added options for the food trend which is growing in the skyline of the city, covered with clouds but dotted with eateries. The urge to splurge on food suddenly grows when after the peak summers when the mercury is on rise your hunger levels, and then arrives the soothing showers inversing the fore-mentioned phenomenon.  Apart from just samosas or pakoras, the hungry soul then yearns for fried, spicy stuff and open spaces which are dropping.

I am always in for open spaces which along with good food have the best natural resource available i.e FRESH AIR!! Hence to venture, apart from the regular roadside eateries, I thought of listing down some irresistible options.
Truffle - The Cafe
Truffle – The Cafe: Located off S. G Highway, opp. YMCA club, a comparatively peaceful and bigger location. Apart from the container converted to a cafe, they have the best blend of live music, private spaces dug out for larger groups for friends and family. Food is completely another big story to tell!! You will just go  ga ga over their presentation and preparations. Moreover, the breads which they use are made fresh, in-house.

Few days back I tried my hands on over Jacket Mushrooms, buttons inverted upside down, stuffed and baked to perfection, served with a portion of fresh exotic salad and crunchy bread squares. The second bit which I opted was, ‘Broccoli almond soup’. A perfect healthy combo which can be repeated off and on..With “Food our Best Friend!!” as one of their tag line on the menu says...

Well in this romantic weather I am sure you will completely be mesmerized!!

Kolkata Konnections: A small, simple yet classy way in which you will immediately fall in love with as soon as you enter!! They have a created a green corner outside the restaurant, those who love to enjoy evening breeze can just munch on... be it biryani’s, Kathi rolls or Mughlai parathas.

Loacted near Lion circle, Bodakdev.

Nine Pine: A newly opened restaurant which has options from round the globe. Just beside Pride Hotel, on a happening street. You can either chomp on those cheese balls with a mocktail, or enjoy a hot Punjabi Dal Makhani Platter or bite into the most scrumptious Apple Pie with a hot coffee.

Dil-e- Punjab: Go on a long drive on S.G Highway and just park your car, live music, tandoori parathas, tikkas, Chinese and soak yourself in this Urban Dhaba and refresh your highway travel tales...Located near Adalaj, vegetarian rules this place.

Unlocked: located in the heart of city in Navrangpura, this is an all day cafe with a small section outside dedicated for additional chilling experience, as the mantra of ‘Unlocked’ is to free yourself, revive your childhood, exercise your brain while exploring out on their World cuisine, waffles and live ice- cream counters.

Besides various stand alone eateries; the star rated hotels too have open restaurants, another spread of options for the fine diners. Be it Wind & Water at Fortune Landmark, The Garden Cafe at The Fern, Amnesia overlooking the pool, Citrus Grill at Lemontree offering view of Sabarmati and lot more...

So soak, stir and swirl this monsoon..

The Kastoori of Agriculture and it's women

Saturday 22nd June 2019: Agriculture, call it a tradition, an occupation or being part of the nature and our existence with it!! Just like Kastoori or the musk is within the deer, but it keeps hunting outside, similar is with our Agriculture sector. It had always been our primary resource, but we complicated the same hunting outside, making farmers dependant on complex and manipulative processes. We all know that various climatic and financial factors with overburdened chemical dependency has made this sector gloomy, turning down into a compounded cyclical process which has now started affecting the urban too; giving the realisation to human race now to bridge the gap between the two. Farmer suicides and pesticides in food chain with increase in cancer cases is just the tip of the iceberg. Purvi Vyas, Mentor WGWLO & Babita Jain Chair person FLO With such an initiative Ficci FLO Ahmedabad on 21st June, organised an event Coordinated by Shilpa patel , Kinnery Sh
