The Food saga... Is it your best friend, or best friends made over it?

Homo sapiens as we are, one of the most evolved species on this planet.. the way our brains, technology and living patterns have emerged, so have the trends on food.

in ancient times, after we discovered fire.. food was simply cooked so that our digestive system isn't loaded for hours of churning and extracting nutrients..

Nutrition is what needed as fuel to run ourselves and our brains..

So my day on Saturday started with a session on growing better food for nutrition which is chemical free. "Treewalks" an initiative by Lokendra Balasaria is a session conducted by like minded people on regular intervals to know more about the trees, taking care of them, growing up vegetables and contributing more to detox the planet.

Next I headed on to UNLOCKED.. which too is based on Detoxing, be it from technology or our digestive system. I discovered a board game "UNSPOKEN" over a Kiwi, Cucumber and Mint detox juice with an intention to add better nutrition in my body.

The third stop.. towards exploring the experimented versions and evolved trends at ICEKRAFT. Here the fire which was discovered, just to cook, has been used in a different way altogether... They serve Black versions of desserts. Playing around with Charcoal Ice cream.

The charred ingredients, a by product created by fire, is the key ingredient of this Charcoal Ice cream. Coal or carbon as we know, has the property to absorb or suck in extra smell. When it reaches our gut, it does no good than rather taking away all the nutrition, vitamins etc. which is the key requirement for hunt for food. Charcoal does good only if you have eaten highly toxic food.

Aren't we too highly evolved in terms of experimentation is my question?

Later in the evening, I headed on to Crescent Party plot at Sindhu Bhawan road to attend an event organised by Red FM, where they had given a "Thappa" ie a stamp of authenticating food under various categories so that their Listeners can choose on their culinary experience. The thappas were given to food owners across Gujarat.

Pizzoram (fusion of pizza and khaman) - Das Khaman
Das Khaman won under the legacy category, one of the oldest and best brands of Ahmedabad, running since 1922. Urban Chowk got the Thappa for the best food park in Ahmedabad. Mom's rolls, Majja ni life, Dr. Bubbles, William John's pizza, Rasikbhai Chewdawala from Rajkot etc.were few of the other brands.
Punjabi Virsa, conceptualised by daughter & run by mother - Vinky
The hunt for food which Homosapiens started has now transformed into bigger platforms as hunt for eateries. Growing number of food parks, participation of small players in flea markets etc. portrays the long path a human has taken on the food map..(gut development is another story)

So on a Saturday well spent with food..I remember a quote written in my last blog .."Food is your Best Friend"

Sands to Skyscrapers: Dubai’s Architectural Marvels

A New Dawn in the Desert By: Kulveen Narula “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn't something  you await, but rather create.” — H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum A t the turn of the millennium, while the world was celebrating the arrival of Y2K , a quiet revolution had begun brewing in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai , was preparing to reimagine itself—not just as a city but as a symbol of human possibility. From a land once known only for its sands and souks, rose a futuristic skyline that rivals the best on Earth. In just 25 years , Dubai evolved into a global epicentre of design, engineering, and luxury—where the homo sapiens are actually living on Cloud 9, giving us a strong dream etched on sand, which didn't disappear overnight but amplified year on year imparting a twinkle in the eye of millions in the world to light up a dream.  The Visionary Behind the Rise The transformation is no...
