Food Chain, Farmers, Finance & the Forums .. from Fs to Rs

The world is Flat but full of Forums nowadays with Focus on Tourism, Heritage, CSR etc. Few days back I attended a Conclave on Heritage, CSR Conference from Idea to Impact at AMA yesterday was on Tourism with Omar Abdullah to pull back the fading numbers of tourists in Jammu and Kashmir.

The twin city Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar has been witnessing Dubai Property shows, various corporate forums. On 31st July, 2025, TTF, Gujarat’s biggest travel trade show, had over 900 exhibitors from India and overseas, witnessed a diverse lineup of national and international tourism boards, including Sri Lanka Tourism, Gujarat Tourism, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, Uttarakhand Tourism, J & K Tourism, Goa Tourism, Odisha Tourism, Rajasthan Tourism, Punjab Tourism, Kerala Tourism, Karnataka Tourism, Assam Tourism, Tamil Nadu Tourism, Chhattisgarh Tourism, Meghalaya Tourism, Tripura Tourism etc.

Ms. Gayatri Subramaniam, Director, Association for Women in Business, Director International Centre for Socially Responsible Businesses on August 1, 2025 at AMA guided the pathways to formulate collaborative strategies in order to implement CSR projects, this itself can be instrumental if one plans to tie up with food chain segment.

Corporates like Tata Motors, Adani Foundation and Honda group shared their success stories contributing towards social development.

One FACTOR ( another F) Farmers, the food growers not discussed, which surprised me ??!!! No mention in CSR, they are ailing, committing suicides and the corporates in CSR don't bring this to the surface. Politicians don't  discuss this! The Farmlands are sold, converted to hotels and urban locales, if all farmers become funded entrepreneurs then who will grow the food?

The entire Food Chain on one side is dependant on Farmers, the growth and surge in restaurants and hospitality industry due to rise in Tourism sector has brought in another bigger challenge i.e waste management.

The food waste itself if dealt seperately; Exclusively with proper plans in large hotels can contribute a lot to compost, richer and healthier soil belt leading to organic farm produce which equals to better profits for farmers as organic yield attracts more money and the hotels themselves can be the direct CSR suppliers of compost and consumers. ( Needless to say the luxury segment consumes high-quality produce)

The above plan is highly recommend for the sandy regions where government and it's people are struggling and putting all efforts converting this belt into a green zone. United Arab Emirates working tirelessly, successfully must adopt "waste segregation at grass root level" as a blue print for their hospitality segment. They are witnessing exponential growth in hotel construction; global boom in tourism and hospitality.. which equals to augmentation in food waste, which if converted to compost can be another field yielding gold.

They are building a modern world where impossible doesn't exist, hence they can set an example to the rest of the world.

Foot Note: we certainly don't want to build a Pirana or a Ghazipur dumpyard, with development and consumption, zero waste dumping in food industry is quite possible.  Sustainability is a bigger objective to arrive at with Rs as pillars..

Recycle,  Reuse, Refurbish, Regenerate!!

Its not just Oil and Gold, a New world economy, booming and buzzing, attracting all global markets to buy home, setup business and live in a place which is now the new Centre of attraction, to setup Global Headquarters. The Millenial tower - Burj Al Arab  Indians have forgotten Canada and US (seems so..) especially after the setting up new Trump norms... so where do all heads turn and why? 1. Distance : Travel time from Delhi to Dubai is 3.5 hours and if we talk about Gujarat, Punjab, Kerala and Maharashtra they are geographically more towards the west, therefore the travel time to The Emirates is even lesser than any other Indian town on the extreme corner. Therefore, Dubai travel is cost effective and easily accessible. 2. Visa : Relaxed norms with consultants from both countries growing in numbers to assist Indians settle in Dubai, both for entrepreneurs and job seekers. 3. Population : Potential of any economy to thrive lies in its people, Population thus holds biggest Poten...

"Wife or a Whore?" Or Dust under her feet!

Lets change the narrative.. the perspective and positioning !! Well, this is one statement which after a certain age applies to women.. pls note the word "AGE"!! This was mentioned in a book reading session by Sharbari Zohra Ahmed, in her Debut Novel,   "Dust under her feet!" The  Quantico  scriptwriter moves from an International thriller, expressing a high voltage drama series for Hollywood and now back into the 1940s, where her story revolves around Yasmine Khan, the protagonist. Sharbari expresses that it was probably Yasmine Khan, the focal point chose her, cause while writing the fiction,  she could clearly go back into times and see the visuals of the yesteryears when World War II had set in.. There is a lot which Sharbari has contributed into this novel, above her body mind and soul.. fifteen years have gone into crafting the epic! What beyond? The Author has actually gone to the libraries of Kolkata, dug out their archival section, newspapers, magazines, hu...

Sands to Skyscrapers: Dubai’s Architectural Marvels

A New Dawn in the Desert By: Kulveen Narula “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn't something  you await, but rather create.” — H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum A t the turn of the millennium, while the world was celebrating the arrival of Y2K , a quiet revolution had begun brewing in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai , was preparing to reimagine itself—not just as a city but as a symbol of human possibility. From a land once known only for its sands and souks, rose a futuristic skyline that rivals the best on Earth. In just 25 years , Dubai evolved into a global epicentre of design, engineering, and luxury—where the homo sapiens are actually living on Cloud 9, giving us a strong dream etched on sand, which didn't disappear overnight but amplified year on year imparting a twinkle in the eye of millions in the world to light up a dream.  The Visionary Behind the Rise The transformation is no...
