Green Coffee – the new bean... to sweep that sugar clean What’s the wait for.... go green!!

Going green is not only the tag of environmental health but also one for the health freak community, a fad that is growing... unlike a viral that in the era of net is healthy but this green going viral is anti- oxidant!!

Last few years, a decade, to be precise ,witnessed  that green tea and various other ‘avtaars’ of these leaves, Chinese in origin,  have captured a big space in market shelves, be it Super markets or just a nearby small ‘kirana’ store.

Most recent ‘Green’ tag carrying its own bouquet of benefits in the health conscious era is Green coffee. To focus more on its primary health benefits, lemme begin.... after going through the research papers, I would thrust on the bigger aspect - Diabetes over weight loss benefits. Green Coffee has a chemical Chlorogenic acid’ above 45%, which actually restricts the absorption of glucose into blood stream by not allowing the complex sugars to break down into simple. Hence it is quite clear that these complex sugars will go off through our body through the excreta. This clearly implies, when sugar absorption is guarded by chlorogenic acid’ , weight gain too will not happen. Apart from these two benefits, it increases fatty acid oxidation which results in increased lipid metabolism lowering triglycerides (another form of fat). Both of these factors, restricted sugar absorption and fat synthesis assist in weight reduction. It aides weight loss due to increased fat metabolism

Hence we can arrive at a clear conclusion that green coffee can also help following:

a)     prevent Type II diabetes b) risk of heart disease c) assist in weight loss

1.     What is Green Coffee? Coffee beans, the nut or the seed of the red coffee fruit which are not roasted is green coffee. The roasting process to make coffee black destroys most of Chlorogenic acid’ which is the antioxidant in the bean.

2.     How is Green Coffee to be consumed? Simply boil 8 halves i.e four beans in water for almost 12 minutes which will extract its nutrients. This extract is lemon green in colour and is alkaline in taste; one can also feel the predominance of cellulose which is present in green vegetables.

By increasing the boiling time for 20 minutes to 1 hour, the alkaline properties transform to acidic as more of caffeine is extracted from the beans. This imparts the liquid extract a bit of sour and pleasant taste. However the former has more health benefits than the latter.

Since coffee beans are grown in mineral rich belt, on stretches of black soil, responsible for giving alkaline / metallic kind of taste which can be balanced by adding lemon and honey, for sour and sweet flavour. Both these ingredients are known for their own health benefits which can further accelerate weight loss properties of green coffee.

3.     Where to get? Green coffee is easily available off the shelves on various e-commerce sites. There are many brands sold of which I tried and tasted one given by Rajan who sells green coffee beans which are GMO free, chemical free and pesticide free.

They are available on http://greenobazaar.com/

Coming back to where we began – GREEN theme, yes!! GreenoBazaar delivers the wholesomeness of an organic, eco-friendly bazaar to your doorstep, at your convenience. The site truly resonates with their clean green philosophy.  With increasingly deadly & dreaded diseases which are wide spread due to consumption and production of food, cosmetics and other consumer goods made from harmful and carcinogenic or non-bio degradable chemicals and materials.

Rajan Patel, the owner and the brain behind this venture addresses these issues by serving people with handpicked, certified organic and 100% natural products. Greenobazaar has been built with a vision of making itself  an apt choice for health and ecofriendly needs of the new  health conscious era. These small steps will make people conscious of their consumption and production habits thus leading all to a better future.

Upcycle Concrete

Upcycle is an interesting "GREEN" practice nowadays followed by many!! For goods and commodities its good, but in the era of shifting sands, preferences, fast evolutionary changes, the need and demand for more excitement the malls, unlike old markets, have a very short life span. A decade is quite long, then they slowly organically fade out. Ahmedabad, unlike the metros is quick silver. The life span of malls is shorter than those in metros.. few which have swept off infront of our eyes in two decades are; Gulmohar, Fun Republic, Gallops etc. Gallops though with best brands, infrastructure couldn't survive the cost concious market. Two days ago I happened to step into Iscon mega Mall, Mega like the word suggests, its gigantic. Reliance hyper market was inaugurated on 15th August 2006 by Sh Mukesh Ambani, it was his big bang entry into retail segment. In this mega structure, today hardly 10% area is functional, rest is all unused.  If Westside and Reliance are functional...

Parallel Worlds - Perspectives from Gwalior

India is a land of Gold mine for Archeologists and architects.. any region we travel, there are ballads and narratives found in every corner of the country. After various emperors who travelled and did their territory demarcation.. today the politically divided States as per the Sovereign Social Republic clearly reflect the culture and Unity in Diversity in various aspects, be it culture, space, region, food or architecture. Madhya Pradesh, today being the centre of the country is a classic example where you can find historical structures, monuments and living spaces from across eras. Mughal, Marathas, Rajputs, Sikhs, Britishers etc.  Apart from this, there is a lot of correlation found in the architecture of structures found in other states which have been built in other eras. Twin temples with elephant carvings as base Sas Bahu Temple Gwalior (vishnu temple) Sun Temple Modhera in Gujarat and Sas Bahu (as ...
