Time to ACT

Journey of time too evolves, from the "main samay hun " of mahabharat that revolves around Draupadi to ACT of Sonata with an X factor . Yes, that's a good news for the ladies out there, who just needn't be dependant on pepper sprays or Martial arts.  This watch needs to be linked with with your smartphone through an App. The interface platform to connect your watch with phone is Bluetooth.  When in need the girls can press a button placed at left side of the watch... that's it!!! Then through the App, which  has prior been fed with your emergency contact list goes a distress beep or an alarm showing your location  (Google map location with latitude and longitude) . The location keeps getting updated every 90 seconds without letting the culprits know about it!! So ladies, Time pieces now aren't just restricted to keep a time check, revolving and evolving, to a fashion accessory and now a safety gadget now. To tell your dear ones from NOWHERE To you are...

From D to R... Regenerate ....That's what we all seek....

It had always been my deep desire or in my wishlist to go on a Wellness vacation... and yes it happened. The search began years back when I used to watch success stories of people suffering from some ailments getting cured in Kerala naturopathy centres. These needed lot of  time off from your busy schedule.. then came another temptation 'Ananda in the Himalayas' which again didn't happen. Finally my friend Archana took me to this place very much near Ahmedabad, a home away from home. Nimba in Mehsana, here three of our girlie gang landed in to spend three therapeutic  days. A home away from home where the air, water, food, environment... everything is natural. An action packed day which starts at 5 am with "jal neti" "yogic kriyas", herb infused teas, massages, personalised treatments, raga therapy, reflexology etc. Complete pampering where like a typical holiday you don't worry of adding pounds... rather shed off some kilos.. wow!! What more c...

A seeker called - Guru Nanak

When I revisited the stories about an eternal soul who started a revolution. I learnt that Guru Nanak since childhood had been inquisitive and was a SEEKER. Seeker meaning questioning and with that questioning emerged new paths... new beginnings.   Only one instance of his life which I am urged to pen down is .. he was made to wear " Janeu " which actually he refused to. The refusal was directly given to Pundit Hardayal, their family priest of a high repute. This instance clearly implies that Nanak was a Brahmin by origin. He at that point of time questioned as to why this ritual was only meant for males, why cannot Brahmin women or those people from other religion wear the same.    He evolved further from being just a tagged " brahmin ". His radically new thought process; call it philosophy or seeking or awakening humanity later gave birth to Sikhs (a student... always seeking and learning). Thus Sikhism is a revolutionary movement which surpasses  rel...

Jai Mata di!!! maa tujhe salam..

Navratri: there are many tales that showcase power of Maa Vaishno or Maa Durga or Vaishnavi, Trikuta or Tribhuvani Shakti. Goddess - The Shakti or en eternal power has many names. Nav Durga resides at various places in India which are known for her own powers – individually! Why? Possibly she had belief in her own existence, her own path, standing against Mahishasur  or Bhaironath trusting solely her source, today she is worshipped across as ONE. Let us look at other strong women in our religious texts – Sita and Droupadi , through my lens… Sita married the strongest, mighty King Ram. He did protect her, he fought a battle against Ravana killing him and coming back Victorious…. Why? Cause Sita remained strong and had disagreed to become Ravana’s wife.  Sita comes back from exile, but the queen again has to walk away and go for another exile as the Mighty King could not stand by her side in front of the society. The same King for whom she stood by, in all circum...

Integration OR "Unity in Diversity" much before Independence - Sikhism is Humanity (the Majority)

Few Facts about Sikhism and Golden Temple: Guru Granth Sahibji has extracts of many Hindu scriptures 1. It has poetry of Bhagat Ravidas – an untouchable from Chamar community , disciple of a Brahmin 2.  Fareeduddin Masood, a sufi saint known as Baba Farid 3. Bhagat Kabir dohas are part of Guru Granth. Kabir's origin is known to none..  He just emerged out of the blue and merged back in it. 4. ... and Many saints, gurus and various thought leaders along with baani of ten Gurus of Sikhism. Golden Temple: It's foundation stone was laid by a Muslim  - Hazrat Mian Mir in 1588, centuries before the construction of our Constitution, division of India and Pak  and the seeded politics behind it... till date we are cutting the thorny branches of bitterness which is endlessly growing and is watered with human blood. Fundamental rights ??? They still lie in hands of politicians.  Unity in Diversity has been talked about centuries before.....

Matters of Heart.... Regal league - Ranbanka Jodhpur

When it comes to Royal treats, Rajasthan is top of the mind recall for anyone, be it India or abroad. Royal is not only in terms of the old charm “Heritage” what I realised immediately after having breakfast when I spotted a craftsman sitting on the grass on the lawns of Ranbanka Palace in Jodhpur. In old traditional style he showcases the handmade embroidered footwear and leather bags. Shopping is part of being a woman, something probably that completes you before anyone can ;) So I just started checking out footwear. They were one of the best in terms of quality and design…keeping all this aside what touched me most was the regal aspect of the heart. Manohar lal, the craftsman sits on these lawns since last 10 years and doesn't pay a single penny to the owners of Ranbanka… that's what is our cultural heritage, commercials come later. I was urged to immediately pen this down as in new millennium this is one of rarest aspect. Moreover Manoharlal too doesn't charge a pre...

Ashoka and Aurangzeb

अशोक और औरंगजेब  Ashoka and Aurangzeb  Very famous emperors who always thought they were INVINCIBLE. I might  not be so well read or learned but know the story of these two legends.  The former after many killings, high placement, reaching the pinnacle remained empty from within. The Great War of Kalinga he did win but lost himself before the weeping plight of innocent children and wives of soldiers who were killed in the battle. Thus he surrendered to bigger powers and transformed. Rest is history....  NO!!! His actual history was written thereafter. The Great Emperor dethroned  himself and became torchbearer of peace.....so, therefore even today  every house has    Ashoka tree, its leaves are considered pious and used in every pooja.   The latter power version, Aurangzeb continued using force. Forcefully converting any caste to Muslim. God loves love and peace but if peace is challenged one needs to follow principles of Gi...

Triyambakeshwar diaries... & Power point - Kumbha

Nashik Another solo trip, taken in month of December 2015. I usually say that I have stopped planning things, when you surrender yourself to the universe, it guides you. Now I move with short term goals in my hand… rest floating. Then HE takes the charge and will give you the BEST available. My dream of El-dorado too will come true. Coming back to plans, just two days prior, on a Sunday, I was with a friend of mine suggesting her a short holiday from Ahmedabad, instinctively or with guidance (as I say) I happened to suggest her Nashik. The very next day I got gushes in my brain of taking the trip myself, it was perfect season, midweek, no rush and I could get to see the grapes hanging in vineyards, just like the danglers of a beautiful woman. From the economy side too it was right time to visit, a week prior to Christmas and icing on the cake was midweek, so I got a chance to grab a best deal. Quickly on the following day, I checked upon few good hotels, went to purcha...

Books in India...ahh! Where is the FOCUS?

Books in India!! Where is the focus? Gujarat is India Since late 90's, when I started teaching in Gujarat taking personal tutions I did used to spot erroneous books, served on the table just like a concoction, what actually we get as mocktails here ( prepare a glucose biscuits shake, or any other flavoured and coloured liquid loaded with sugar... and yes, this is the reality). Our taste buds have gone for a toss and similar is the case of our nuerons or the education sector.  The miniscule aspect of this is our books. They are our foundation, but the irony is that our growing market (market ..pls take a note) now just to compete, Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest, is coming up with their own course material. Looking at this material I thank my schooling which I started more than three decades ago in my home town Kanpur, also my Board ICSE, elaborate and detailed enough to set a strong base or foundation so that we exercise our nuerons more towards logical worko...

The Divine Journey

The Divine Journey - Visit to  Hemkund  and Badri Vishal Date 2 -8 November 13, Page 68 By: Kulveen  Narula http://thesouthasiantimes.info/index.php?param=epaper With bags full of excitement, anxiety, anticipation and joy for discovering the unknown trail we arrived at the commencement point - Devbhoomi Rishikesh couple of years ago. The sun had set, we rushed to our hotel to check in and then immediately headed for the banks of the Holy Ganges where the evening aarti had started…. the river  was flowing with its full might towards the plains to impart its blessings to the people in various forms -fertile plains, water for industry, etc. There is a massive idol of Shiva erected in the midst of the Ganga in Rishikesh which added to the tranquil environment created by the chants sung in praise of Ganga. Diyas were floated on the holy waters and a whiff of mist floated above the surface – a truly breathtaking experience. The ascent to  Hemkund ...

The World beneath - Not the Under world ;)

I can do this as well... WOW!!! till now I have flown in the skies, didn't explore the world beneath. And here I go below zero level i.e sea level and get an opportunity to be a part of ocean and it's beings. While i realise the importance of my breath ( the only thing I hear) i get to see the fishes and colonies of corals which are being ruled again by another growing population, once part of Animal kingdom - the Homo sapiens, I mean human  beings.  Sea Walk at Coral island - Pattaya , Thialand by: Kulveen Narula https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1srAuYlFbTE&feature=youtu.be

"Mai Thai" or do I say its My Thai : a perfect concoction

"Mai Thai" or do I say its My Thai : a perfect concoction A tangy blend of lemon, orange, pineapple in high spirits. With company of that sitting beside the beach just by yourself. Experiencing the vastness of the ocean, nature mixed with some music. Not those typical spotlight rush hours; and the advantage..! you get another drink for free, to make you even happier in their happy hours . For me it makes better sense as i dont like darkness.... Dawn or Dusk are the best pa rt when the day meets night or vice versa; blending with each other. Sunrise or Moonrise are two very essential parts of the day which help overall existence.. our being!! Cause we always rise in someway or other. Growing everyday.. These thoughts flow into me while I am romanicing nature witnessing the ocean blending with the horizon. And within that scene you feel a part of overall existance in universe. Thus You too blend or merge with it.. experience your BEING with it. A perfect con...
Pattaya diaries.... visit to Mini Siam, incredible experience Apart from seven wonders of the world, Miniature forms of architechtural marvels across the globe are constructed . They leave you awestruck as they have been built with exquisite detailing. Looks as if world is your playground. Cute little trees, Cool Breeze captivates you even more. Away from the noisy bars and hustle and bustle of the Pattaya city. This is another wonder in Pattaya. (Not only for kids ... mind it) pattaya is much much much more beyond what Indian men think about it. Grow up boys ;p Thru my lens.
