World on my Platter...

..... Millhouse is the place to be...

Classic, elegant, delicate, succulent, juicy, creamy and moreover Fresh!!! are the few terms that define this newly opened place and the food.

Millhouse offers completely new gastronomical delights on the food explorer's platter; an experience which will am sure as a blogger will continue on... and on your steering too, I believe, can turn it onto one of favorite food junctions. A newly opened venture by three people; Jaydeep Mukherjee, Ajit Dhumal and Anand who have a rich background in hospitality have taken this initiative. While interacting with Jaydeep, a precise message which I captured, and to put as a "quote" "Glocal delicacies, simple food, with less experimentation, retaining the original flavors and minimizing wastage". * PS

Three types of seating arrangement, that of bar, cafe and a comfortable dining space...  three menus, one for beverage, food and sweets offering bakery products and hand crafted ice- creams. The list goes endless.

Chef Malavika Pratap & Jaydeep Mukherjee

To begin with.. I opted for a fresh fruit concoction, the menu again is full of fresh fruit blended versions, apart from the mocktails which are made out of synthetic syrups that are available across in bounty.

Another rule of three: Fresh , organic and mostly made in India ingredients rule the kitchen space.
They source ingredients from NGO's, as part of a corporate social responsibility. The coffees in the menu are again, primarily of Indian origin, sourced from South India which again is vouched upon by connoisseurs.  The red rice used in risotto hails from regions in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Iodized table salt is replaced by natural mineral or rock salt and sugar too is organic.. all the efforts are inclined to serve pesticide free food.

What I ate:

1. Citrus Kick: A blend of fresh oranges, apples and pineapple with a hint of ginger. Absolute refresher and a detox drink, loaded with Vitamin C.

2. Gooey grilled stuffed Mushrooms: another delicacy of those protein buttons stuffed with hazelnut, crumble, cheese and ginger marmalade

3. Cucumber and watermelon salad:  packed with goodness of chea seeds and fetta cheese and a hidden caramel crunch gives this a wow effect!! refreshing! rejuvenating! revitalizing!

4. Creamy Spaghetti, hand made you can opt for a three cheese, pesto, veggies.. whatever you are inclined for.

5. Twice cooked Asian Spiced roast chicken:  delicately prepared with hours of love and hard work gone into it. A whole chicken is soaked in a brine for 12 hours, then brushed on with butter and roasted in low heat. When the meat gets cooked, the surface is again brushed upon with honey, butter and sesame seeds and roasted in very high temperature for a very short while in order to caramelize honey imparting a smokey flavor. This is served with yellow and green zucchini, broccoli, peppers and mashed potatoes.

6. from the Dessert Menu... Beauty lies in the eyes of beholder... but this visual I am sure is quite inviting, raising your tempting antennas on a high and get ready for indulgence!!

World's best banoffe pie.. top of pop! bananas and fresh in house cream

Baked Philadelphia Cheese cake.. crowned with berries!!
So to be precise.. that was World on my platter!! Italian pasta, Mediterranean salad, American Chicken and dessert with Indian ingredients.. powered by Chef Malavika Pratap who has extensively worked with leading hospitality chains.

3rd Floor, Ahmedabad One mall

*PS: (Food wastage in the aggressively growing F & B industry is something we seriously need to look upon ..together!!! )

The Millenial tower - Burj Al Arab  Indians have forgotten Canada and US (seems so..) especially after the setting up new Trump norms... so where do all heads turn and why? 1. Distance : Travel time from Delhi to Dubai is 3.5 hours and if we talk about Gujarat, Punjab, Kerala and Maharashtra they are geographically more towards the west, therefore the travel time to The Emirates is even lesser than any other Indian town on the extreme corner. Therefore, Dubai travel is cost effective and easily accessible. 2. Visa : Relaxed norms with consultants from both countries growing in numbers to assist Indians settle in Dubai, both for entrepreneurs and job seekers. 3. Population : Potential of any economy to thrive lies in its people, Population thus holds biggest Poten...

"Wife or a Whore?" Or Dust under her feet!

Lets change the narrative.. the perspective and positioning !! Well, this is one statement which after a certain age applies to women.. pls note the word "AGE"!! This was mentioned in a book reading session by Sharbari Zohra Ahmed, in her Debut Novel,   "Dust under her feet!" The  Quantico  scriptwriter moves from an International thriller, expressing a high voltage drama series for Hollywood and now back into the 1940s, where her story revolves around Yasmine Khan, the protagonist. Sharbari expresses that it was probably Yasmine Khan, the focal point chose her, cause while writing the fiction,  she could clearly go back into times and see the visuals of the yesteryears when World War II had set in.. There is a lot which Sharbari has contributed into this novel, above her body mind and soul.. fifteen years have gone into crafting the epic! What beyond? The Author has actually gone to the libraries of Kolkata, dug out their archival section, newspapers, magazines, hu...

Sands to Skyscrapers: Dubai’s Architectural Marvels

A New Dawn in the Desert By: Kulveen Narula “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn't something  you await, but rather create.” — H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum A t the turn of the millennium, while the world was celebrating the arrival of Y2K , a quiet revolution had begun brewing in the Middle East.
