Konnecting Karnavati to Kolkatta..

K3-Gut

We always have believed in konnections, yes that does matter; be it with people, food or culture. So this man with roots in Gujarat has his heart embedded in Kolkata.. and ofcourse tremendous love for food made him put all his soul fire to bring this gastronomy to Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

Crafted Green entry zone, cozy and comfortable!!

Nearing 365 days of it's completion, his love has been well received in the city, that too in a very short span of time, Kolkata Konnections has build  fan following and sufficient recognition.

So with a tete -a- tete with the man behind the brand, Samir Patel, I checked on the key ingredients which he has used to build this brand...

Samir Patel

Samir Patel a.k.a Sam, as addressed by his friends, has a childhood which belongs to Kolkata so his taste buds are very much rooted there. Childhood memories have the deepest psychological impressions which stay forever.. the yearning for taste gave him his Eureka moment to build a restaurant serving what he missed!! As rightly said.. Necessity is the mother of invention!!

what all went in to create...

1. Test Drive: Sam put up a stall at Durga Pooja Pandal in 2016 where he received an overwhelming response which gave his thoughts further boost..

2. Gathering inventory : Hand picked utensils from Kolkata, about 450 kg utensils were transferred to Ahmedabad along with local flavours, spices, condiments etc.

3. Manpower : Local chefs from Kol were transferred, given right kind of environment to flourish, grow and deliver; as Sam strongly believes in his people.

4. Physical address:  He identified a strategic place, not too small, not too big, yet apt and good enough for a humble beginning. Apart from the food, the interiors too make you travel to east, with Trams suspended, yellow cabs, brick walls topped with portrayal of his bike love...

Meeting point, Harley on one side and Tram on other.. Luxury meets the daily need!!

Perfect Ambiance.. a cab that makes you travel to streets of Kol..
Some items from the hit list, better known as their signature dishes; you will fall in love with... Mishti Doi, Phirni, Kolkata style Kathi rolls, award winning Mughlai paratha, Veg Kebab platters, Aloo Dum, Chilli garlic tandoori chicken, Chicken Bhartha, Chicken Chaap, Fish Fry, Mutton Chaap and Mutton Pasinda,Veg & Non-veg Dum Biryanis, etc.

Mughlai Paratha
Sam is a well established software professional, he has spent almost half his life i.e 22 years in Kolkata and a part of his life gathering education and putting into practice in overseas countries.  For later part of his life he decided to come back to his roots in Gujarat. With a current workforce of over 80 people in his core business; he has ventured into F & B industry and gives credit to FEA group for his vertical growth pattern.

On the first anniversary of KK which falls on 1st May 2018, we wish him a Happy Beginning, as the optimist Sam says.." Age is just a number... Drive towards your gut and your passion, they hold the key to success!!" and to evince it; within this short span he has already achieved lots of awards and accolades..

He is all geared up for the upcoming anniversary with lot's of offers on the go.. including a candle light dinner. So time go to East in this part of west and just check it out..

The Kastoori of Agriculture and it's women

Saturday 22nd June 2019: Agriculture, call it a tradition, an occupation or being part of the nature and our existence with it!! Just like Kastoori or the musk is within the deer, but it keeps hunting outside, similar is with our Agriculture sector. It had always been our primary resource, but we complicated the same hunting outside, making farmers dependant on complex and manipulative processes. We all know that various climatic and financial factors with overburdened chemical dependency has made this sector gloomy, turning down into a compounded cyclical process which has now started affecting the urban too; giving the realisation to human race now to bridge the gap between the two. Farmer suicides and pesticides in food chain with increase in cancer cases is just the tip of the iceberg. Purvi Vyas, Mentor WGWLO & Babita Jain Chair person FLO With such an initiative Ficci FLO Ahmedabad on 21st June, organised an event Coordinated by Shilpa patel , Kinnery Sh
