Global Pairings... It’s Tea & Cheese for a Dry State

We have been hearing about wine and cheese gatherings.. That’s quite an old fashioned way to throw parties. Ahmedabad with their growing taste for Global cuisine identified yet another way to celebrate without alcohol. Wine gets replaced by tea, sounds quite fascinating.. It actually is!!

Soho il Forno a newly opened restaurant on S G Highway, organised this unique concept based get together where varieties of exotic teas from across the globe were served with various world famous versions of cheese. Like wine and cheese are a good pair, complement the sharp taste of tannins in wine with lactose in cheese; same story goes with tea.

Premium and assorted versions of teas from various continents were served by Karma Kettle, a brand from Kolkata. Alluring names capture your attention even more, to know more and try more.. Nightingale, Maya, Big Ben, Moksha and many more.. the blends are just not about only variety of teas but tisanes too. The blooming colours in liquid delight prepared from their fruity floral range like lavender, marigold, lotus, jasmine, hibiscus, orange, apple, strawberries and rose, to name a few.. are equally aromatic, each carrying their own distinct notes and flavours.

The Global Cheese Platter again had their age to flaunt... more the better.

Blue Cheese, coloured mild cheddar, Gouda, smoked processed, hard cheese etc. Brought in by Cheese Solutions and more was another attraction; complemented by breads and cakes from Healthy Browns.

The Kastoori of Agriculture and it's women

Saturday 22nd June 2019: Agriculture, call it a tradition, an occupation or being part of the nature and our existence with it!! Just like Kastoori or the musk is within the deer, but it keeps hunting outside, similar is with our Agriculture sector. It had always been our primary resource, but we complicated the same hunting outside, making farmers dependant on complex and manipulative processes. We all know that various climatic and financial factors with overburdened chemical dependency has made this sector gloomy, turning down into a compounded cyclical process which has now started affecting the urban too; giving the realisation to human race now to bridge the gap between the two. Farmer suicides and pesticides in food chain with increase in cancer cases is just the tip of the iceberg. Purvi Vyas, Mentor WGWLO & Babita Jain Chair person FLO With such an initiative Ficci FLO Ahmedabad on 21st June, organised an event Coordinated by Shilpa patel , Kinnery Sh
