On a High.... Tea sojourn!!!

Weekends in Ahmedabad are a big question, the booze lovers maneuver their way on the border of the state.. rest are left becoming a movie buff or a foodie.. and that's what exactly we did on a Sunday, but a bit differently.
Sunday gets too boring especially if you are single, so two chiks decided to explore the day in a unique way..

9:00 am we were in screen no. 6 at PVR watching Julie -2, and to our delight we were the only two women in the entire theatre. This fact itself was a great opportunity and all the more a reason to take some selfies and boast that post on social media forums...took us on quite a high, though the film was a bit heavy, but a great suspense thriller throwing light on realistic scenario as a hidden side or the grey areas of the glam world...the sad part is, such films don’t attract much viewership.

12:00 noon I was at another residence for an audition of an anti aging cream, quite interesting for people in middle age, exploring their own way. A fun trial as one never knows the doors of opportunity, one just needs to make an effort to knock, try and peep into..

13:00 hours, back to PVR again...yes!! another movie, long pending but couldn’t give a miss. Tumhari Sullu, quite interesting and another realist plot, which shows the reality of an ASPI-Ration-ALL   a 360* home maker, struggling through her duties and responsibilities, rationalizing, yet stealing moments of joy that take her on a high, which could be a simple Mommy race in the school or a Radio “prize win caller contest”. Aspirational!!!!! Like I just mentioned...there in the radio station was an opportunity hiding for her, though facing challenges and being held guilty of, of whatever went wrong, her survival instincts and support from her better half makes her shine again like a star...

Vidya steals all the kudos, versatile and a realistic artist.. gives life to the script. Despite her heavy built, she manages to give better justice than any of the better sculpted actresses could do...that’s the difference between an artist and an actor!!!!

Again, after the heavy movie, Sullu was quite an entertainer. Carrying back a smile on your face when getting off the theatre.

16:15 hours – Land at Kettlelery, all entertainment within 3 km periphery..

This place has lot of stories to be written about, cozy, not so noisy, home style, simple yet classy, a retail outlet for teas and an eatery which offers a high tea menu on the weekends.. that too spread across three days i.e Friday to Sunday, when all the offers are put on OFF button !!

High tea, with a price tag not so high, just Rs. 350/-  it started with a choicest blend of Tea Latte, I opted for a Caramel apple; which is a Rooibos i.e. red tea carrying notes of apple with a caramel blend. Topped with milky froth.. what I loved was the genuine aromas which your olfactory nerves catch upon even before the sippin- On.. , then the sip, just the correct temperatures what your tongue can bear, on its bare flat floor loaded with taste buds... the message sent and registered within span of few seconds... Wowwwwww!!!! Hmmmmmm!!, this isn’t the WOW radio of Vidya Balan, but an expression of Kool Kulveen J

Then landed in the sandwiches, freshly made, healthy option as it had lots of veggies and crème cheese; followed by snacks - Crispy Fried vegetables, freshly made, though they were fried but weren’t loaded with oil as compared to other outlets.. could be because of the second round of frying which is done for a pre-prepared  dish.

Another tea I opted for as the menu comes with a tag “unlimited”(*conditional). Toffee Brittle Nut, quite similar with the caramel one cause of toffee; this again the red tea had stronger aromas with cocoa blend and nutty undertone a better option for the chocolate lovers.

A four course meal concluded with a four coloured, layered rainbow cake, dotted on top with stars and criss crossed connected with a green jam...

Four stars for Kettlerey!!!

So actually we did it very differently.. a city which opts for brunches and late evening shows.. we did the reverse.. morning show and high tea.

ADVANTAGE.. no traffic to face in the morning, less crowd. Same for the high tea as well; and we are back home early, tired and full where the bed is waiting for us for an early to bed sleep when the rest of the city is now planning to venture out, vehicles struggling their way on the street honking at each other..

After early rising Fresh on the morning, with the memory of aroma of the tea notes.. Happy reading!!

Its not just Oil and Gold, a New world economy, booming and buzzing, attracting all global markets to buy home, setup business and live in a place which is now the new Centre of attraction, to setup Global Headquarters. The Millenial tower - Burj Al Arab  Indians have forgotten Canada and US (seems so..) especially after the setting up new Trump norms... so where do all heads turn and why? 1. Distance : Travel time from Delhi to Dubai is 3.5 hours and if we talk about Gujarat, Punjab, Kerala and Maharashtra they are geographically more towards the west, therefore the travel time to The Emirates is even lesser than any other Indian town on the extreme corner. Therefore, Dubai travel is cost effective and easily accessible. 2. Visa : Relaxed norms with consultants from both countries growing in numbers to assist Indians settle in Dubai, both for entrepreneurs and job seekers. 3. Population : Potential of any economy to thrive lies in its people, Population thus holds biggest Poten...

"Wife or a Whore?" Or Dust under her feet!

Lets change the narrative.. the perspective and positioning !! Well, this is one statement which after a certain age applies to women.. pls note the word "AGE"!! This was mentioned in a book reading session by Sharbari Zohra Ahmed, in her Debut Novel,   "Dust under her feet!" The  Quantico  scriptwriter moves from an International thriller, expressing a high voltage drama series for Hollywood and now back into the 1940s, where her story revolves around Yasmine Khan, the protagonist. Sharbari expresses that it was probably Yasmine Khan, the focal point chose her, cause while writing the fiction,  she could clearly go back into times and see the visuals of the yesteryears when World War II had set in.. There is a lot which Sharbari has contributed into this novel, above her body mind and soul.. fifteen years have gone into crafting the epic! What beyond? The Author has actually gone to the libraries of Kolkata, dug out their archival section, newspapers, magazines, hu...

Sands to Skyscrapers: Dubai’s Architectural Marvels

A New Dawn in the Desert By: Kulveen Narula “The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it, and execute it. It isn't something  you await, but rather create.” — H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum A t the turn of the millennium, while the world was celebrating the arrival of Y2K , a quiet revolution had begun brewing in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai , was preparing to reimagine itself—not just as a city but as a symbol of human possibility. From a land once known only for its sands and souks, rose a futuristic skyline that rivals the best on Earth. In just 25 years , Dubai evolved into a global epicentre of design, engineering, and luxury—where the homo sapiens are actually living on Cloud 9, giving us a strong dream etched on sand, which didn't disappear overnight but amplified year on year imparting a twinkle in the eye of millions in the world to light up a dream.  The Visionary Behind the Rise The transformation is no...
