Population holds the potential!!

Who wouldn’t love to go to exotic locales, explore history and have cultural exchanges. We all are travellers and man has evolved over years doing that, be it Columbus or Vasco da Gama, history holds the proof and architectural remains or monuments are the only living structures which tell us stories of better scientific approach, hard work, labour and art... all amalgamated well with the bricks and mortar.

Homo Sapiens are believed to have evolved from Africa, Johannesburg especially which is known as ‘Cradle of Humankind’. This is a World Heritage site, home to 40% of human fossils.. ie bone and stone, that is one aspect of population.

Promoting South Africa Tourism in their training campaign Hanneli Slabber, Country Manager India, South Africa Tourism mentioned, “South Africa is home to seven to eight generations of South African Indians. A strong bilateral Human connect with India was also established by Mahatma Gandhi, who is considered more an African than Indian by the citizens of Africa. Statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandella can be spotted at various places. India from thereon till date has been a great contributor.”

“SA Tourism has witnessed a double digit growth in last five years, of which last year itself Indians contributed 21% overall growth. The chunk Gujarat contributed in these figures is 55% which itself is humongous and impressive too”, she further added.

The factor contributing to this growth is the young population which holds the potential that of disposable income and seeking to explore more and more. Compared to an average of two adventure activities a day which rest of the travellers demand, Indians have the stamina to opt for six activities, result of which they have indirectly contributed to growth of SME’s in South Africa.

Hills, beaches, wildlife all can be explored, above all because of highly contributing and demanding Indian population they have designed packages Made for India and have trained Chefs to cook Jain food so that Gujarati’s don’t miss their home even when in Africa.

The connect of SA and India is even deeper and goes beyond time. Studies show when continents were being formed, Africa and India got separated.. so were their people and lions too. One breed, their cousins are the Asiatic lion in Gir, Gujarat.

So the ever demanding and price conscious globetrotting Gujarati  travellers can pack their bags to new destinations like: Oudshoorn, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Port Elizabeth and Drakensberg region apart from Cape Town. Last but not the least the currency exchange rate of Rand to INR has fallen from 7 to 4.8 which gives all the more reason for Indians to pack their bags and fly....
